On Friday 29th August CCHR South Africa was invited to speak at a Women’s Celebration event in Soweto, hosted under the theme “You Are Not Alone.” Around 50 people attended, mostly women, along with the chairman and board of the local Community Police Forum, SAPS officers, and the church pastor.
Our team delivered a one-hour talk on ADHD and the psychiatric drug Ritalin. Many in the audience were already familiar with the drug, and some shared personal stories of their children being prescribed it. Several explained how they made the decision to stop the medication after witnessing its damaging effects.
The response was overwhelmingly positive. Participants thanked us for presenting the full truth, and the organiser requested a follow-up event focused on psychiatric therapy and children. The pastor also expressed his support and offered his church as a venue for future initiatives.
The deeper we engage with communities, the clearer it becomes that these issues run through every level of society. We are committed to continuing this work, raising awareness, and giving people the tools to protect their families.
